The street food scene has exploded in cities across the U.S. Chicago is no exception. There’s just something comforting about grabbing a cup of Belgian fries and taking off to your next destination.

Netherlands native Jeroen Hasebos must have known that. He opened Frietkoten Belgian Fries & Beer at Chicago French Market as an authentic fry shack and well, we’re hooked.

The hand-cut Belgian fries come in a paper cone and are served with a choice of 20 different dipping sauces from peanut satay to wasabi. There are few things that accompany these crispy delights than a beer.

Hasenbos has added Belgian varieties to the taps, including: Avril Biere de Table and Debuisson Cuvee des Trolls, Blond Ale. Beer is also available in organic varieties any by the bottle.

On Aug. 5, stop by Frietkoten for a Beer Tasting from 4:30-7 p.m. Try 6 varieties for $15 and don’t miss out on the fries. Located in the Fulton River District, residents of Left Bank at Kinzie Station are never to far for a quick nosh.
